Today Neil DeGrasse Tyson reasserted his spot as America’s favorite astrophysicist by hurling knowledge at a curious stranger, 140 characters at a time.  Astro-enthusiast, Ebony Fay, tweeted "@neiltyson when is the last time there was no full moon in february? PS you’re really fascinating, Professor."

Tyson took a break from his usual schedule of destroying planets (RIP Pluto), to respond "@EbonyFay The February in each of these years had no full Moon: 1809, 1847, 1866, 1885, 1915, 1934, 1961, 1999. Next: 2018"

… minutes later he added "@EbonyFay Even cooler: In each of those years both January and March enjoyed a 2nd full moon – the fabled ‘Blue Moon.’"

A reasonably psyched Ebony "Just had a Twitter Q&A with a famous astrophysicist. How freakin’ cool is THAT? #neiltyson"

If you have a question like Ebony or just want to learn some mind blowing facts, you can follow Tyson on twitter here.

And if that doesn’t sate your space appetite, listen to Tyson talking apocalypse on LoE

  1. People sometimes forget fame requires courage.

  2. I really liked this piece. Especially the concept of President Obama taking on the US and its economy,  the Titanic analogy was awesome. I agree that something needs to be changed to get on the wagon of change for the sake of saving our enviroment.
